Few actors could walk into a movie, make you wonder what the hell he was doing there, and immediately make it more interesting. Donald Pleasence bounced from prestige films and television to horror, science fiction, exploitation, and some truly baffling corners of cinema — usually bringing the same absolute commitment no matter what surrounded him. He gave us Dr. Loomis in Halloween, Adrian Carsini in one of our favorite Columbo episodes, and enough wonderfully strange performances to earn the unofficial title of Chairman of the PTC WTF Hall of Fame.
